2015 Remodeling Excellence Award Winners Announced

Kitsap HBA Remodelers

Trophies on Table

Each year, the Kitsap HBA Remodelers Council holds the annual Remodeling Excellence Awards event.  All HBA members that have completed a remodeling project in the previous 14 months are encouraged to submit an application for award consideration.  The award categories are diverse and include commercial projects as well as residential.  Each year the number of applications changes and so too do the types of projects submitted.  This year’s event did not disappoint.

REX applications are judge by a panel of members but the judging is done “blind.”  Applicants are not allowed to include any identifiable insignia in their photos and are encouraged to avoid using any “boiler plate” language in their written summaries when submitting more than one project for consideration.  HBA staff also work to scrub any identifying language or images so the judges can be kept as “blind” as possible to the contractor’s name that submitted the project.  Each project is reviewed carefully and in addition to the quality of the outcome, is also considered on its “value to cost” ratio.  Remodels have the burden of obstacles and challenges that are part of the job when working around existing structures, occupants, and unforeseen obstacles.

Kitsap has the benefit of professional, talented, and dedicated contractors that make their living improving the homes and buildings in our community.  Each year, the HBA is reminded just how excellent our members really are!  View our 2014 Remodeling Excellence winner’s projects on our Houzz.com site and soon we will be uploading the projects of the 2015 winners.  For now, please scroll down and see the one photo from each project awarded last week.

Remember, when hiring a contractor, always hire a professional registered with the Washington State Department of Labor & Industries.  To find yours, be sure to use the HBA Membership Directory on this site!
